Caroline Campbell

Caroline Campbell, long time associate of Darklight over the years,  wears many a beguiling hat: from documentary filmmaker, to legal & digital rights expert, from her academic exploration of art and technology to possibilities of free culture and Open Source. Fresh back from the screening of Alibi at the Edinburgh Festival, Caroline is hectic, lashing out work as part of a filmmaking partnership TuMeTues (tumetues.com), check out Music Video @ New Living Art @ IMOCA in Dublin if you missed it at WERK in the Abbey in July.

Caroline will expand on her many previous Darklight festival events and gigs. Let’s hope she will throw one of her throbbing midnight DJ sets into this year’s Festival mash up as part of her much anticipated strand!

Stay close and attentive, Caroline’s strand promises to be a mouth watering and head bending roller coaster ride along the edge of art, music and, we hope, a bit of a dance around.

Caroline’s Programme

Madam K and a talk about Video Activism,

Saturday 30 October 2pm, Grand Social.

“The politicians and bankers have been tearing the a**e out of it. It takes a local hero like Madam K to step up and show us what needs to be done.

“A big truck came and parked outside the Dail in an act of protest about toxic banks. Reporters were later to be seen spinning the story that it had tried to crash through the gates. Later still, politicians were defecating the same thing. We had enough. We produced a b**t plug. The politicians seemed to like it.”  Madam K

Is it a good or a bad thing that our elected representatives don’t know a b**tplug when they see one? – Madam K will join other invited and angry video activists and filmmakers at Darklight to discuss the current and urgent need for a filmmaking practice of reaction.
