RTÉ YOUNG PEOPLES PROGRAMMES

Sheila de Courcy has been producing and directing television programmes for 20 years across all genre including Factual, Music, Documentary and Current Affairs. She has devised series for Drama, Arts, Entertainment and Childrens programming. Executive Producer credits include the year-long ‘40 Years of RTÉ Television’ event, and the creation of a Teen Soap for RTÉ.

‘The Den’, RTÉ’s childrens channel broadcasts up to 12 hours daily for children and young adults. Since becoming Commissioning Editor and Head of Young Peoples programmes almost 3 years ago, Sheila has restructured and rebranded ‘The Den’ developing over 20 new programme strands both in-house and through the independent production sector. Around 400 minutes of original programming is now broadcast each week on ‘The Den’ with additional content available on the Den website.

Sheila co-founded Mini-Input and regularly contributes to training programmes and workshops.
